Ahead of the Expo-2020 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is reopening its borders and has resumed applications for tourist visas for fully vaccinated travellers, including Indian citizens.
As per the latest travel guidelines, tourists will be required to be vaccinated with one of the World Health Organization approved Covid-19 vaccines.
Furthermore, the decision applies to citizens of all countries, including those arriving from previously banned nations.
– Tourists will be required to furnish a valid negative RT-PCR test certificate issued within 48 hours of departure.
– A report of a rapid PCR test, conducted at the departure airport six hours prior to departure, will also have to be submitted.
– However, no approval from the UAE’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) or the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) will be required, which were previously needed for tourist visas.
VFS Global processes visa applications for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in India. After the latest travel guidelines, it has resumed its visa services for Indian citizens from August 30 onwards.
Passengers can apply for their visas at or at any of the VFS agency’s Dubai Visa Processing Centres located in Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has so far approved AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm and Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines.
However, in India’s case, it will mean Covishield for now.
