Qatar participates in GCC Customs Union Authority meeting at Expo 2020 Dubai – The Peninsula

GAC Chairman H E Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Jamal and several GAC departments’ directors represented Qatar in the 27th meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

Dubai: The State of Qatar participated in the 27th meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), held in the United Arab Emirates as part of the events and activities hosted by the GCC pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Chairman of the General Authority of Customs (GAC) H E Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Jamal and several GAC departments’ directors represented Qatar in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the General Secretariat memorandum on the necessity of completing the Customs Union requirements in the implementation of the decisions of the GCC leaders and the importance of activating the Customs Union Authority’s role to exercise all its entrusted tasks to enhance the achievement of the desired integration in the economic fields. The meeting also included a discussion of the customs role of the inter-ports, the importance of agreeing on non-customs restrictions for the GCC states, and other topics and reports of the technical committees listed on the agenda.
The participating delegations were taken on an acquaintance tour of the visual presentations and data shown at the General Secretariat’s pavilion at the Dubai Expo, which showcases historical information and highlights the close relations between the GCC states in all aspects.
