Omani women's group takes part in Dubai Expo 2020 – Times of Oman

Dubai: A group of Omani woman specialists, researchers and students participated in the Sultanate’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai as part of celebrations of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which falls on 11 February every year.
The group visited pavilions of other countries participating in the Expo 2020 and acquainted itself with the achievements of other countries in communications and innovation.

Dr Sihambint Salim Al Sinani, from Oman Medical Specialty Board said that Omani woman had distinguished themselves in the field of medicine and had several achievements in their name and had also represented the Sultanate in the international arena.
Engineer and researcher Hajirbint Khamis Al Azri said that representation of the Sultanate in the Expo 2020 was a new and enriching experience which afforded an opportunity to get acquainted with prominent personalities in the field of science.
The idea of celebrating this day reflected deep appreciation for the achievements and innovations of women and girls in the field of science.
Dr Buthainabint Mahfoudh Al Wahaibi, Head of Research and Development Office at Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company said the event this year had focused on the contributions of women in the field of environment and the challenges faced in the water sector.
