The Dubai World Expo is one of the largest events of its kind ever organised in the Middle East. It was supposed to be held in 2020, but was postponed by a year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Behind the scenes, the event has become a forum for political discussions, as countries in conflict find themselves just metres apart. FRANCE 24’s Sylvain Lepetit, Nicolas Keraudren and Sophie Guignon report.
Meanwhile, Naftali Bennett has made history by becoming the first Israeli prime minister to visit the United Arab Emirates. His trip comes one year after the two countries established diplomatic relations. Bennett met with the UAE’s crown prince for four hours, marking a historic turning point in ties between the two countries.
Finally, we take you to Egypt to meet those whose job it is to unearth archaeological treasures. The pandemic forced them to stop their missions for months. But now, French archaeologists are back at work.
