Officials reviewed the security measures for all the upcoming events to be held across the venue
Dubai Police has reviewed all the security arrangements for Expo 2020 Dubai, as the mega event prepares to open in just over 10 days.
Lieutenant general Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, asserted the force’s full readiness to secure the venue at a meeting on Saturday.
He also reviewed the security measures for all the upcoming events to be held across the venue, and inspected the latest smart technologies that the force has deployed in collaboration with local and federal authorities, a statement said.
Dubai Police will utilise all ‘available artificial intelligence’ techniques to secure Expo 2020 – from visitors’ arrival into the country until they reach the exhibition site, stated AL Marri.
“Dubai Police has dedicated all its capabilities and smart systems to enhance the event’s security measures and to provide the necessary support for the event’s service providers,” he added.
Al Marri also reviewed the workflow and evaluated the work done by the committee’s teams involved in the three main security sectors: the support sector, the operations sector, and the criminal investigation sector.
He also stressed that the Expo has been set as the force’s key priority.
Expo 2020 Dubai, which will run from October 1 2021 until March 31, 2022, hopes to see 25 million visits during the six months.
Last week, organisers announced that visitors must present either proof of a Covid-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test result to enter the venue.
Visitors aged 18 and above must present proof of any vaccine recognised by their national government or a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours.
