Roberto Carlos and Arbeloa also took part in the presentation of the Sport Values Academy TV education platform.

To mark International Education Day, Iker Casillas, deputy general director at the Real Madrid Foundation and Julio González Ronco, the institution’s managing director, were invited to the Spain pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai to present the organisation’s e-learning platform, Sport Values Academy TV, which is the only platform in the world to feature educational sport and values content.

The madridista delegation, which also included club ambassadors Álvaro Arbeloa and Roberto Carlos, was welcomed by Íñigo de Palacio, Spanish ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; and the executive commissioner of the Spain pavilion, Carmen Bueno. The presentation featured an address from David Esplá, managing partner at Interactvty, the platform’s technology partner, and Fabio Zuluaga, football business unit director for the Middle East at adidas, the platform’s official sponsor.

Innovative platform
During his address, Casillas noted that: “Connecting sport with technology allows us to improve many more lives through our educational sports values methodology”. Sport Values Academy TV is the only sports and values training content platform in the world and it sees the Real Madrid Foundation’s educational content, workshops, courses and activities become accessible for free and simultaneously throughout the world. The platform comprises various content categories and sections for educators, players and parents. This window to the world was recognised at the Top Developer Awards 2021 on account of the innovative and socially engaged nature of its content.

The delegation joined the Real Madrid ambassadors in visiting the Spain pavilion and signed its book of honour. The Whites’ expedition also dropped in on the Fly Emirates pavilion on its trip to the 2020 Expo Dubai.
